Parttime HR & Team Manager (f/m)

We are looking for a passionate person in the field of human resource and team management to strengthen our team in Berlin.

We are reinventing the way people discover video content using social and contextual data from all sorts of sources. We mostly work for media companies, hard manufacturers and operators. This position is newly created within our team.

The Role

  • Strategic HR: Create and execute an HR related communication plan including online & offline: Blog, website, social media, events, relationship management with other startups, research institutes and universities in/ around Berlin. 
  • Recruitment and Selection: Draft and publish open positions, review and filter incoming applications. Organise and run hiring process.
  • Performance Management: Create and execute personal development plans for each team member in cooperation with leadership team. Take over ongoing feel-good activity for the whole team.
  • Be a nice person :)

Whom we are looking for

  • You are looking for a part time (20 hours/week) position related to human resource management.
  • You keep close track of international HR standards in terms of people management, hiring process and work environment.
  • You are interested in technology and design and the specific work environment and human interaction aspects that come with it.
  • You have perfect english and german language skills.
  • You enjoy working as part of a team and like to constantly learn new things.
  • You have an EU work permit.

A Plus

  • Current HR master studies in Berlin.
  • Language skills in Spanish, Portuguese or Russian.
  • Active blogger and HR-zeitgeist contributor.

Ruby Backend Engineer (f/m)

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Ruby backend engineer to strengthen our small and agile development team. We are reinventing the way people discover video content using social and contextual data from all sorts of sources. We mostly work for media companies, hardware manufacturers and operators. Besides Ruby we frequently make use of MongoDB, EC2, Chef, Sinatra, Jasmine, Sidekiq and Redis. Sounds interesting?

Role

  • Develop new key features for our Ruby based platform
  • Translate product requirements into actionable tasks
  • Research, design and implement solutions for making sense out of large amounts of data
  • Be a nice person

Who we are looking for:

  • You have a couple of years of experiences with Ruby/Rails
  • You build systems that are simple and scale (in other words beautiful)
  • You are excited about test-driven development
  • You are more pragmatic than idealistic when it comes to software development
  • You have an EU work permit

  • Previous startup experience
  • Experience with recommendation systems, named entity recognition solutions or front-end development

Senior Lead Developer / Technical Lead

We are looking for an experienced and communicative backend engineer with the ambition to take the next step and become the Technical Team Lead of a startup in the merging space of social media and video discovery. Sounds interesting?

Role

  • Lead the architecture and the development of our Ruby based platform
  • Develop innovative solutions based on product requirements and business challenges
  • Lead and manage the engineering process according to business requirements
  • Elaborate and decide on architectural challenges and operational issues

Who we are looking for:

  • You have been developing in Ruby/Rails for 3+ years - but are generally not married to any language for philosophical reasons
  • You have great communication skills paired with the ability to lead teams
  • You have strong technical skills including a deep understanding of data structures and state of the art APIs
  • You design and build beautiful systems that are simple and scale

  • You know how to compromise and strike the right balance between a perfect solution and delivery on time
